WHAT ARE SOLAR SCREENS?

Solar screens are a type of window treatment that covers the entire glass of windows and doors from the outside. Their main purpose is to protect the glass by reducing the intensity of direct sunlight before it reaches the surface. By doing so, solar screens effectively lower energy bills by preventing heat transfer through windows and doors, all while still allowing for a clear view. Compared to other options such as window film, interior products, or awnings, solar screens have a higher efficiency rating.

Solar Screen Fabric

At Michael Solar Screens, we specialize in providing high-quality solar screening solutions. We offer a wide range of top-of-the-line PVC coated woven Polyester fabrics, ensuring durability and effectiveness. Our exterior solar screening does not contain any fiberglass. You can choose from 80% and 90% woven patterns, and we offer a variety of colors including Beige, Black, Brown, Buffalo, Gray, and Desert Grain (or Stucco/Desert Sand, depending on the Brand).

Center Bar and Muntin Bar

We offer a selection of heavy gauge roll form aluminum frames in various sizes, including 5/16" x 3/4", 5/16" x 1", and 3/8" x 3/4". These frames are specially made for us by the manufacturer to meet our specifications and are available in five different colors: Mill, Bronze, White, Almond, and Champagne.

CENTER BAR / MUNTIN BAR

The Center Bar and Muntin Bar we offer are made of aluminum framing, specifically .020 thickness, in sizes of 5/16" x 3/4" and 3/16" x 5/8". To ensure stability and prevent any movement over time, each intersection of our gridwork is securely blind "Back Riveted". This guarantees that your gridwork will not shift or create double lines, maintaining a seamless and aesthetically pleasing look when looking out of your windows.
